My name is Angela Offord. I live in the beautiful Northern Midlands within the largest Tasmanian electorate of Lyons. As a veterinarian for 34 years, I have worked hard to improve animal health and welfare. Working for the professional body for 20 years I developed a passion for good governance, robust policy development and collaborative decision-making.

As your elected representative my job will be to listen to you and take action on the issues that matter to our communities. As your representative, I promise to:

My priority issues will be based on the important issues causing many of us concern suc as the cost of living pressures and systemic problems in our health, education and housing systems.There exists environmental and animal health and welfare concerns and an observation that there is a lack of integrity in politics.
Access to quality health care should be available to all Tasmanians. This includes addressing accessibility to GPs, ED waiting times, bed block, Aged Care, Dental Health and Mental Health service provision.
I have always been passionate about ensuring the health and well-being of animals. This involves advocating for policies that protect animal welfare while also supporting initiatives that promote responsible pet ownership.
Our natural environment is a treasure that must be protected.
I am dedicated to addressing climate change, increasing the resilience of our ecosystems, and fostering sustainable practices that benefit our communities and future generations.
I will uphold the principles of good governance, including accountability, transparency, and ethical decision-making in parliament. I will work to establish respectful dialogue and ensure that the community’s interests remain at the forefront of any decision-making.
